Currently Kym has her own Coaching, Training and Communication consulting business. Kym has fostered positive relationships with successful results for local business, which has generated repeat business. Kym also has a local Yoga studio providing Yoga and Meditation services to the local community (period 6 years).

Kym was the owner and Managing Director of her own National training company working within the Communication Industry, delivery services Australia wide, enjoying Industry success achieving national awards and presented at national conferences as a key note speaker on various occasions (7 years).

Before her own training business Kym was employed as a Contact Centre and Customer Relationship Manager for Wine Selectors, managing 240 plus people and interactions and touch points of 200, 000 customers (9 years).

“Over the past two years, MINE Wealth & Well-being has engaged Kym McDonald to work within the business as a consultant in the areas of call centre evolution, coaching and learning and development activities. My interactions with Kym have been primarily focused on working together to achieve learning outcomes for people within the organization and building capacity in areas such as customer contact, Frontline Management and within out emerging leaders program as a coach and facilitator. One key project has been the co-design and facilitation of a frontline leaders program of which we are in the process of delivering our second tranche. This program has involved the integration of the traditional frontline management Certificate IV qualification with the leadership circle 360 assessment and coaching tool. The key outcomes for the program are to develop future leaders in the business through providing learning and technical concepts such as decision making, projects, presentations, conflict and general business planning and simultaneously building their leadership effectiveness. Some examples of projects which where undertaken as part of the program where skills audits, review of the internal team communications, greater linkage of understanding to the strategic plan and increased confidence in the pro actively managing people in their teams. Another positive outcome has been the cross business networking between participants and the sharing of knowledge and ideas which has greatly reduced silos and encouraged more holistic thinking in the business. Coaching of participants throughout the program and an ongoing 6 monthly check in has also proved to valuable to maintain momentum from the program and continues professional development for these frontline leaders. Their managers has expressed positive improvements in team dynamics and willingness to undertake on projects outside of their usual remit. Kym has also co-facilitated and coached participants of our emerging leaders program. The program has been designed to take second tier high potential leaders into deep exploration of their leadership effectiveness, strengths and growing edges. In terms of outcomes we have experienced 100% retention rate of these employees for the duration of the program and 60% have moved into roles of more complexity and responsibility during this time. “Last year I had the privilege of participating with the Frontline Management Certificate IV Coarse in partnership with a mentoring and personal leadership development program, which was run ‘in house’ by Kym McDonald. Kym was always very warm and positive, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable knowing exactly where to lead us – a great teacher and role model. She has a talent for stretching you gently. The coarse was very relevant to the culture of our workplace and the group bonded very quickly although we all came from very different areas. I initially felt very uncomfortable with the role playing but eventually enjoyed the experience and identified results which was a great personal learning for me. I found the coarse extremely valuable and because it was held in house and over 12 months, it made it very easy for me to stay committed, participate and learn.
