Never did I imagine myself as a yogi
Early on in my career I was an apprentice fitter and turner with the Electricity Commission of NSW. That led me into mechanical engineering. I’d attend trade shows and demonstrate welding and other mechanical tasks. I have always gone against popular choices and trends to follow the direction that feels right for me.
After my mechanical career, I moved into wine sales as a team leader in customer service management. From there I started my own national training company for the long term unemployed and indigenous people, partnering with large banks and contact centres. The business expanded into consulting, coaching and training.
During my journey I practiced and taught meditation which opened the door to a diploma in yoga teaching as well as post graduate yoga therapy training including three internships with my teacher in India who is also a medical doctor.
Today I run my own yoga studio here in Australia and now teach others to become yoga teachers and therapists. I can confidently say I have truly found my calling and love what I do.
This article kindly published by the Newcastle Herald shares some of my journey. No matter where you are going with your career, trust your heart and your gut and may you find your calling too.
